  • @FlyingHorseKnuckles In my opinion their version of All along the watch tower is better than Dylan or Hendrix

  • One of my all time favorite songs - it's just pure beauty!!! Thanks for posting. BTW - the entire album is classic!

  • Michael and Tom's prettiest song, without a doubt.

  • ditto! thx....so nice ;)

  • I hadn't heard this song in years. Everyone knows "One Toke Over the Line" but in my opinion this is their best song. Thank you for posting it on you tube. Excellent.

"Ruby she comes on the morning, like sun through the wind she arrives. My living started when she became a part of my life..."

  • it's been maybe 30 yrs since i've heard this/them..omg soooo nice :)

  • One of the best duo's of the early 70's. Their fame was somewhat short lived. They had great energy, and their back up was rockin'. Great to see someone from the Heartland make people sit up and take notice. They had a big hit with Tarkio .

  • Such a little gem of a song from two talented singer/songwriters. Beautiful lyrics, harmonies, and flute. "My living started when she became a part of my life." Moving and bitter sweet. From the great "Tarkio Road" album. Classic.

  • wormpiano,

This song is from a wonderful LP, and Brewer & Shipley made other good LP's, too, like "Shake Off the Demon." Mint and near-mint vinyl LP's from Brewer & Shipley are going to appreciate, in my opinion. The original vinyl pressings (Kama Sutra Records) were well made and, if cared for, still sound beautiful---CD's just don't have the depth & presence.

    Best to You,

    BB

  • AnitaNellcote,

No offense, but this has nothing to do with the Beatles (and they did some great work, too). This is 70's counter-culture Heartland Folk, from an often-overlooked part of the US: Kansas & the KC Metro-Lawrence hippie culture (which still lives).
