My First Ham Radio Contact!

I got my amateur radio license yesterday and captured my first contact on camera! Thanks to everyone in the ham radio community for being so supportive. The radio is a Bao Feng UV5R+, which I chose because it was so inexpensive, yet had plenty of good reviews. KD2DCR

I've been wanting to get my licence, but the nearest place to me to take the test is a couple hundred miles away. What did you read to study?

I actually studied from the practice tests at QRZ. If I got a question wrong and didn't understand why, I just Googled the topic to get a better understanding of it.

Congrats. I remember my first CW contact, I couldn't remember the order of the RST and sent "597" instead of "579," and the guy asked me if I was sure that was his report, because if so it meant he had a buzz on his CW carrier.

In 1986, I waited for weeks before I heard my friend Tony HA4XX. I wanted to first QSO with him. Tony died many years ago, but the first QSL card is glued to the inside of my log.

When I watched the video, I remembered the feeling of the first QSO.

- are you realy use a repeter or not then what kinde ?

- are you working in uhf or vhf or hf ?

-i have the same radio and it made in china but diffrent name ( zastone) uhf

last q - can i use a program called (zello ) to contact you

- and where doze zello working is it in (gsm ) or not /
