Sigh, if you'd really payed attention to the show, you would know that it all is about emotions. They see emotions, micro-expressions of emotions. They don't see if somebody is actually lying, they see micro-expressions of emotions not supposed to be expressed in a given situation. From there, they draw conclusions a person is lying. From emotions that are not "fit" in that situation. Example: Leakages of anger and disgust (scorn) while acting sad about your wife being murdered.
