@b00015984 ...Too much red tape !! Just check my reply to leonadomoses. I was born in Qatar & spend some years there. Those days life was as good as living in Saudi Arabia. Now, its improved a lot. But, still a lot needs to be done. By, building new tall bldgs, holding Asian games, etc...don't try and paint a rosy pic of the place. Live in the West, where basic rights are respected, etc

But, i think its the same scenario in every A Gulf state. But, living in Qatar for 25 yrs, by that time, its almost retirement..lol ! This way, These Arabs are keeping the population in check. They are afraid their country will be swamped by other Nationalities & loose their identity. They afraid, when expats become citizens, there could be instability.

you have to live in Qatar for 25 years, speak arabic, hold a good job and have no police record both in Qatar and your home country and then, just then they might give you citizenship!

sounds easy doesn't it !!!
