Here's why: Jealousy, pure and simple. It's a "girlie" car. "The Cayman S is a $70,000 way to tell the world you can't afford a 911."

These are sweeeeeeeet, precision machines for people who want to genuinely ENJOY the act of driving from A to B.

All the bashing they get are either from insecure little twits who couldn't afford them in the first place, or rich trustee-babies who got their Ferraris as an inheritance.

@DeathToAllReligions Having owned a Cayman S and the wife drives the 997 Carrera S; I would say both the Boxster and Cayman have more than proved themselves as razor sharp sports car if not in some respects better balanced than the 911.

So to "generalize" and say, the Boxster is a girlie car, and the only reason why anyone would buy a Cayman is because you can't afford a 911 is just pure bullshit. Btw which Porsche do you drive?

@shaggyusm26 You am right. The loss of comfort for just 80kg is ridiculous and I don't know how this could have happened (*), when I add upp all whats missing.

Better save the difference, buy a used post 2009 S and if you think it has not enough power, do an upgrade by TTP

@Sha1Hulud I didn't mean any disrespect to Boxster owners. I think Boxsters are great cars. Having dual trunks is awesome and I've heard they have phenomenal balance and handling. I just don't see how Porsche can justify an $80k price tag. Of course, it is the closest thing to a track-ready Boxster you can find. I'd say forgo the Spyder and just get the Boxster S. The S has nearly the same level of performance with a more usable top and cost lots less.
