Does miniaturization basically rule out TE?

@chrisbo2444 sorry to hear that. as you would surmise, i cannot directly give you medical advice on here. you need to see a dermatologist to make sure that nothing else is going on. however, in general it sounds like TE but focal patches maybe something else. hard to really say like this. sorry.

@kostaDez everyone is different. i would say a telogen loss typically starts 6 weeks to 3 months following the fever and then slowly returns over several months thereafter.

@Thkmra TE is different from MPB since MPB is typically a slow, permanent loss of hair whereas TE is a rapid loss of some hair but not all and that is typically temporary. it sounds as if you fit the TE picture especially with the crash dieting however i cannot dispense medical advice here as you know.

So what would you say the diffrence between that and MPB? For example, I myself has experience rapid hairloss over the course of a month. Much as grown back, however there appears to be a diffused thinning pattern all over the top of my head, am a crash dieter, mind you. My mother tells me I'm crazy and points out that I have literally zero occurences on either side of my family(would be to first to go bald), nonetheless it still worries me! So could this perhaps be temporary, or more ominous?

@chrisbo2444 no. one has nothing to do with the other.
