From the live DVD "Don't try this at home"

(I apologise for the blurry beginning. I tried with every single one of the codecs suggested by youtube, and this was the most decent)

  • Oh yes, Havnt heard this in over 3 years. The quality and quantity or utub's stock has been getting much better as far as finding what you want, but especially the really good versions as well. I really appreciate the slice of time these last 20 years where my preference of music has been accomodating coupled with YouTube pumping out seemingly ALL of it I am very thankfull.

  • we all like to share, that's the magic of this

  • Wow, I have to get some of their music to drum along to! What a great band.

I'm a big fan of prog rock, but most new bands overdo the complexity to the point of tastelessness, so I end up re-listening to old stuff. SB is both intricate AND musical. Wish I had been listening to them years ago.

  • Ryo is always so funny xD SB is an amazing band actually!

  • does anyone know what effects alan morse´s uses, especially for his "lo-fi" settings?

  • This DVD turned me into a diehard Spock's Beard fan...

  • @nolketessa I know what you mean. I'm a drummer / singer and I've been playing for over 25 years and vocallizing at the same time for a lot less. It is always amazing to see a great drummer do it flawlessly, like Nick. It takes years to be comfortable to do it, but I must admit a bit self indulgent after a while. Not so much egotistically, rather it's such a high to be at two ends of the musical spectrum at the same time. Spock's Beard are truly masters.

  • How does Nick D'Virgilio sing like this and simultaneously bang on the drums like that?! He must be in mint condition to make it look so effortless.

  • @capoeirahataari Check out IQ,Echolyn,Marillion,and Porcupine Tree.
