  • Interesting solution... ;-)

  • The stand issue has been rectified in proto #2. Good to hear from you, Benny! Peace.

  • To burn that fast and clean and still have a stable flame is a super accomplishment. Looks like youre well onto something nifty there!

  • Thank you, sir! With a relatively simple dampening system, Proto 2 is going to be a serious step up. The remote fueling system is proving difficult, but I will get it down! O.C.D. can be channeled for good things with sufficient will. Thanks for the comment! Peace.

  • What I meant by that comment about Tesla is Tesla had OCD and maybe it's in my genes too, lol. I certainly have his eccentricity. Was that your video with "They're coming to take me away HA-HA" playing in the background?

  • 2 minutes of 15 ml of alcohol should boil two cups. The only thing changed here is the time in which that is done. "Power" is RATE of energy delivery. 15 ml is all you need to raise the temp of room temp water to boil. How fast you do that is different matter. Controlling the flame so it hits the pot for efficient transfer is a bug that needs to be worked out because as I said, the flame is wide and it needs to be more focused for efficient heat transfer.

  • Exactly--the throat concept isn't the primary thing I was sharing, but it was necessary for the internal burning I wanted for the future development of this stove. You could have the bottom closed and the burn would take place closer to the top with probably the same power because the air would be coming from the sides and the gas jetted out the top.

  • 3 minutes is good. It's the top end of your stove. Control for RANGE is the next obvious step.

  • Exactly why I shared the SRB booster concept with you guys, and it's certainly started a chain reaction, heheh. I love stirring the...stoves!

  • That was my next project--chuckle. It's on my hiking notebook I just brought back from Ramsey's Draft. Great minds think alike, but you thought of it and built it first sir, to that I salute you! Put vertical wick in the wall inside and shake it to evenly distribute the fuel. You will liberate fuel faster for the jets.

  • My maternal gene pool is not to distant from OCD hero Nikola Tesla. He and my mother are both Serbs. -Tim

  • The neat thing about the vertical placement is that to get the same power from a flat circle surface, you would need over a 4 inch diameter. This way a 2 inch diameter suffices. The disc would have to be a little larger because the air would have difficulty reaching the center. I think if the stove were shorter and bent in like a star to compensate for lost burn area, it would have a better top burn because the higher up you go the less abundant the oxygen is.

  • Just to be safe, let me say that my challenge was mere jest, dear sir! It's just my aweful sense of humor. As i have said before, I consider you to be a brilliant crafstman with artistic flair and I am glad to see my vertical wick with airflow idea inspiring such talent. The 2 second burn was designed that way. I want a quick boil, but the flame is all over the place. I have an idea how to control it. I just wanted to share my concept with you before I left to hike a few days ago.
