An advanced technique by nesting the items into its own separate sequence, then applying transition effects to the nested sequence which makes working with graphics much easier as well as the best possible image quality.

In this video I dissolved out the entire clip, including the background, but as you know if you want to fade out just the graphic and the text at the same time, just highlight/select only those 2, then hit Option + C to nest those items in their own sequence, helping to make the transition nice and smooth.

  • what do you think is better? final cut pro x or final cut studio 3

  • @MrWatcher6931 personally I like final cut pro 7 (studio 3) better, I have tried final cut x and it just reminds me of iMovie I really don't like using it, but thats because I spent a lot of time getting certified as an instructor in final cut and all the shortcuts and techniques are completely different its basically like starting over even tho basic editing principles are the same

  • What is the cheapest you can get this program for?

  • @MrAwesomeDude8 Free if you know someone who has a copy, or know how to download torrents or other file hosting sites such as heroturko. But if you want to buy from apple its $999. I ended up getting it for $150 because my friend already had final cut studio 2, and the upgrade to final cut studio 3 was $300 so we split it.

  • Nesting is The Ish

  • @MrAwesomeDude8 Well the new version of FCP X is $299 (this is bare bones, just for the program, not the suite). FCP Studio 3 (which includes all the bells and whistles and extra programs) you can grab on Ebay (new) for around $400 or so.

  • Thanks for your time!

    Excellent tutorial
