I have loved Rita Coolidge since I discovered her music in 1969 when I was 10. This is so powerful. My maternal grandmother was Cherokee.

I love this song! I'm the first person in my family for generations to go for my Cherokee Nation registration. They were ashamed and I'm going to bring it back to my family. I go soon to register. I also have no Indian name, but I have the blood in my veins and the spirit in my heart and I will pass it on to my children so the culture lives on forever!
Rita, you are a National treasure!

@HermannRubartV Listen to the lyrics, "I have no Indian name..." you must have no Indian blood hermann.

This is so a moving song. Some songs seem so far and yet so close!
