The Master (Roger Delgado) regenerates into his thirteenth incarnation, the husk like being seen in The Deadly Assassin.
Frontier in Space was Roger Delgado's swansong as the Master. Another story was considered in which the Master would meet his comeuppance, possibly whilst saving the Doctors life, but sadly Roger was killed in a car accident before plans for a script had gotten any further. So the rushed and unsatisfactory conclusion to the Master's part in Frontier in Space was the last we got to see of Delgado in the role. The character of the Master eventually returned in 1976.

This piece bridges the gap between incarnations, though whether you choose to believe the Delgado Master regenerated in the emaciated husk or not is up to you.

  • The rotten Master looked so shitty in "The Deadly Assassin." He looked better in "The Keeper of Traken." (I know the role was played by Jeffrey Beever and Peter Pratt; I forget who was in which.)

  • that was an actual Master incarnation?

i thought that was just Roger Degado's incarnation after an accident

  • i wud ave fukin shit meself if i watched tis as a child and if this wos real

  • its a fanon clip!!!!

  • The Master didn't regenerate into that form, it was the result of keeping his 13th body alive beyond the point at which it should have expired naturally.

  • @Chrisfs59 If Roger Delgado had not died he was to have returned once more only, as the Master in the final Jon Pertwee story for a final showdown leading to the Master's onscreen demise and the 3rd Doctor having to regenerate.

  • @sbergman27 But personal canon can only go so far. The Eighth Doctor is canon in any case, as shitty as his movie was. On audio, Paul McGann has shown that he could have been the best if he's given a decent script. So, no matter what you do - the 7th Doctor still wound up in San Francisco in pursuit of the Master, where he was shot and killed during exploratory surgery. The Master then attempted to steal his lives once more. The recounting could be faulty, but in general, that's what happened.

  • @KingLofiOne Well, ya know. There's official canon. And there's personal canon. As far as I'm concerned, the TV movie never happened. It was just too Frank-N-Furter vs Isaac Newton, if you know what I mean. ;-)
