@BeyondSurprises27 Hey...Arnel Pineda is NOT the one who made this song a hit. It was Steve Perry. Arnel Pineda, even though he is talented, is nothing more than a "cover man" for Steve Perry, and the current Journey is nothing more than a cover band and they don't get it. "Yourvirtualjourney" IS a coverband, they KNOW it, and they are AMAZING for that. THEY are better than the wannabe group calling themselves "Journey" today.

Even though this lead singer is VERY GOOD, VERY TALENTED, he seems to be "missing something"...he seems to be trying to be a bit too polished. The rawness comes from the instrumental and not from his voice...he's almost trying too hard...

I absolutely love this video, great cover on everyone's part. I also like the improv solo the guitarist did.

I have a question though: For the vox: During the prechorus parts, do you just have a 3rd's harmony going on, or is there more than just 3rd's there? And how many harmonies do you have going for the choruses?

The reason I'm asking is because I've been thinking about doing this as a cover to, and the harmonies just make the song so much more rich in sound and energy

"Separate Ways" is a real vocal challenge. This is a very good cover, the singer's voice feels closer to Classic Heavy Metal, making for an effective variation on the original.
