I am one of many admirers of the late legendary singer, songwriter, musician and comedian Povel Ramel (1922-2007) and what I decided to present here is his breakthrough record or almost anyway. Povel Ramel had his big breakthrough in 1944 with the song Johanssons Boogie Woogie Vals which was a weird mix between Swedish folk dance and boogie woogie. That recording is one of the most famous recordings of the 20th century and it has never been hard to get hold of if you want the recording. It has been released on several compilation albums with Povel Ramel, both on vinyl and on CD, but the original 78 rpm record is not as easy to find. Of course, it sold very well back then, but it was also loved and often played to death. That is the reason why the flipside is not as famous, but this is my humble attempt to change that. I actually prefer the melodic foxtrot Inspirerad utav dig (Inspired by you) not as zany or nutty as many other things that Povel Ramel recorded, but it is nevertheless a very listenable recording by a young Povel Ramel who would have a fantastic career ahead of him. By the way, he re-recorded this song in 1991, and it still held up very well.
