  • AMAZING!!! Where are you in the UK??? please say London!!!

  • Hi there, yes I am based in London, UK.

  • Comment on Vid: Just a personal opinion, it may be a factor of the style, but you don't plant yourself much while doing the motions. Like your still letting your torso drop as your punching. Seems like your letting movements slide into each other instead of defining them seperatly.

  • Hi there, yes you are right and thanks for sharing your view.

The style requires the practitioner to sink their body (PM's 4 internal powers - Swallow, Spit, Float & Sink). Upon punching, you sink whilst extending and utilising your waist.

  • You say you know about kata but you don't seem to know that you need to be powerful (fast and strong) to fight. Then you turn and say "it is just kata not real fight" what are you training kata for then? Instead of doing bullshit kata maybe you should spar and do bag work. Look at this vid.(Lumpini & Rajadamnern stadium champions training (1 of 5) at 2:10 on- his kicks are powerful, (FAST AND LOTS OF FORCE) You KungFools can learn a lot form the people who have been kicking your butts.

  • Interesting comments from you all. I deliberately slowed the set performance for observation and a share of opinions from other martial artists', and in particular Pak Mei practioners worldwide. By performing a faster - no one can see the individual combination of manouvres.

It seems that that we all have our own opinion on PM, kung fu, and other forms of martial arts, and you are certainly entitled to your opinions.

    Thanks.

  • "Kata" or Pai is made up of single movements, one of the important points of the pai is to 'feel' the energy moving around the body as you move from single movement to single movement. Only idiots(MMA) think kung fu is outdated crap or are oblivious to true 'wushu' and dont know better...unfortunate for them

  • Nice vid! Good power execution! I like it!

  • To combatsambo

The idea of a form isnt necesarily to practice a false fight. It is a way of passing on technique and strategy, and refining that technique.

You can just as easily say do spear hand, now phoenix eye. By the way use ging. But it works much better if you put it into a form cause you pass on examples of how to use it and a way of remembering the motions. Also timing is more important. After certain moves if you move full speed you may have messed up the previous move.

  • Very nicely done, except the video is kind of lagging, but the kungfu done was good!

  • @culbriz , its actually pak mei

  • @kombatSambo You're generalizing. There are many traditional kung fu schools that train in a lively manner (ie sparring).

  • 9 step push :D

  • Don't the Chinese characters actually say "Bak Mei Pai"? The title only says Bak Mei - 9 Step Push.

  • Great work White tiger! Good breathing and tow lol! I wouldn't worry about the hypocrites as only those who have been taught understands what's going on!

  • I think this is a very nicely done set. Great! Regarding the kata discussion in this thread... in my personal opinion katas/forms are only good for stamina and overall form. Learn the concept and movement instead, make it your own and be YOURSELF, express yourself, freely without too much analysing and "techniques" will form spontaneously. Training pure techniques / forms only is due to lack of understanding of concept and movement.

  • Good powerful moves!

  • Very good! Impressed!
