A Predator in Peril

Every year, 100 million sharks are killed for their fins. What was once a dominant predator keeping the ocean's ecosystem in line, is now a species in peril, who's numbers are being decimated year after year for an Asian delicacy called shark's fin soup. I didn't make this video to beg for sympathy, or to make you cry, but I made this video to enrage you, and make you aware of what's really going on in our oceans, and to hopefully make you realize that something has to be
done, or we will be facing a future without some of our most beautiful animals. Over-exploitation and
consumption has already lead to the extinction of some of our most beautiful animals. With an ever expanding human population, it will be hard to control the consumption of wildlife, and the loss of their habitat, but not impossible. If we all come together, for a common cause, and realize that the time has come for
humanity to start being more responsible, we can change the world. If there is anything history has taught us, it's that together, we can bring down armies, we can change laws, we can change governments, and we can
certainly stop shark finning, and all other forms of illegal wildlife trade, all it takes, is unity. The
Balinese tiger, Javan tiger, and Caspian tiger are all already extinct due to humans, along with many other
animals, let's work together, and make sure we don't lose anymore. Help make the change happen.

Good video. I went to the websites and did what I could. It doesn't feel like much but I hope people will realize sharks are beautiful, misunderstood creatures. I also hope this video doesn't get flooded with ignorant comments.

I agree, stop shark finning and discarding carcasses. Wastefulness ! Foreign gov. needs to step up, stop finning, promote trip landings, and even dissolve fin trade or sale. But one more thing, does anyone know how shark population status is obtained ?

I know a way you could help sharks, become an informer like me. An informer goes around and spreads the word and facts that sharks aren't the man eaters as they are in movie. You got to know lots about sharks and try to get people to come to our cause without pissing them off, that means no swearing at people, becuase if you piss them off they won't help us with saving the sharks. Look at some of my comments on other videos to get an idea.
