This beautiful, intricate stitch originated with Native Americans who used the technique to embellish clothing and moccasins. Revived and adapted to modern uses in the 1980's, this popular stitch offers a wide range of designs, once the technique is mastered. You will learn how to complete pieces using size 11 seed beads, but once you get the hang of the stitch, you can use any size bead. The first part of the video teaches you the flat technique: how to do the basic stitch, design and follow a pattern, assemble and finish a bracelet and how to make easy adaptations for a necklace. The second part of the video will show you how to complete a freeform peyote stitch. Full duration 49 minutes.
