Eastnor Castle ( http://www.uk-tourist-attractions.co.uk/leisure/visit.cfm/l/eastnor-castle/334/ ) sits near the southern tip of the Malvern Hills in spectacular Herefordshire countryside. Although Gothic in style, the castle is Victorian dating from 1810. It's a handsome building, standing proudly above a 20 acre lake.

The photos used in this video were all processed from RAW files in SNS-HDR, which I find gives pretty natural results. Only single exposures were taken and then opened at plus and minus 2 stops before editing in an HDR video. I've put together a simple HDR Photography Tutorial here: http://www.uk-hotel-accommodation.co.uk/hdr-photography-tutorial/

The terraces at Eastnor Castle offer visitors extensive views across the lake to the countryside beyond, and looking north east you will see the Malverns, with buzzards circling overhead (at least on the day we visited).

The terraces and circular lakeside walk provide virtually unlimited photo opportunities of the Castle itself, as this Eastnor Castle video will testify! The lighting conditions and cloud formations really lent themselves to HDR video on this particular day.

  • I would like to know which version of SNS-HDR program was used. The Lite or Pro version. Also would like to know what settings were used in the program. I've used both and can't seem to get the results you're showing.

  • @Macjohn1419 SNS-HDR Home 1.3.5 - I just choose the most pleasing preset and then tweak the controls until I'm satisfied. The Eastnor Castle images were from single RAW photos. I find one of the presets usually offer excellent results, even from JPEG files!

  • Thanks - The HDR images reveal a lot more detail

  • Wonderful shots!

  • @UKTouristAttractions Thank you for the info. I will try your suggestion for using the preset and tweaking the controls. I was frustrated that I wasn't able to get the same results. My HDR images were way out of balance and looked nothing close to what I photographed.
