Ingedients:
200 gms chopped dates
1/4 Cup Walnuts
1/4 Cup Almonds
1/4 Cup Pistachios
1/4 cup Cashews
2 Tablespoons Poppy Seeds
1 Tablespoon Ghee
Using medium heat dry pan fry chopped Nuts for 1-2
Minutes
Using medium heat dry pan fry poppy seeds 30 seconds
Put Ghee and chopped Dates in the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes mashing down on the dates until soft and pulpy.
Mix in nuts and put in a bowl to cool a little.
With small amount of ghee on palms roll into a cylinder and then roll in the poppy seeds.
Put in the refrigerator for at least an hour and then slice thinly to serve.
what is ghee in the west, is there something that resembles it?

@neuroleptika this is what Google comes up with. Almost every time that you need ghee, you can substitute with vegetable oil or butter, though the taste won't be as nutty and unique. I can get Ghee now in my Coles Supermarket and find it enhances the flavour.

@aiishaism with Youtube you can turn the sound down or silent when you dont like the music.
