this song is actually about Shorty Medlock a drinking' Buddy of Donnie and Ronnie Granddad. Ricky Medlock's Granddaddy No kidding I actually spoke to Donnie van Zant

For the record: It's LOEW and BLACK, not Bayou. At 51 I have probably listened to Second Helping a few thousand times. Tickets to the Street Survivors show at the Bayfront Center in St. Pete Fla sold out before I could scrape together the cash to get one. One of my greatest disappointments is never having seen them live.
