Drum jam in my old studio while recording and filming some videos during the holidays last year. I had this bit stashed away in my Mac and I'm finally sharing it. It was a lot of fun to play and record. I had never played this piece before and I was pretty much experimenting as I went. Far from perfect, but that's the beauty of it. The drums are my 5 - Star Mapex Saturn Special Edition Birch Walnut in SuperNova sparkle red.

Cameras are GoPro HD Hero cams and it's all put together with Logic Pro and Final Cut on my Mac. I sleep short hours in other to get all this stuff done!

To find out more about the setup, drums, recording equipment and recording setup see my other videos and see my blog at:

Backing track provided by RHYTHM magazine. It's theirs and I claim no rights to that, I just drummed over it. Special thanks to them for that. The magazine is top notch and their backing tracks are varied, fun and they sound great.

Oh... And don't forget to subscribe! Thanks, Danny Cruz

  • Fuck yeah man!

  • @Crusada54 Haha Thanks! As you can see I'm NOT a jazz drummer :)))

  • Hey Danny, killer drumming brother! You have just about the only quality Go Pro Drumming vids. I'm about to get one myself for the exact same reason. How does the Go Pro handle low light, like if I wanted to mount one on my kit for a live gig?

  • @nickosrightfoot Thanks! You know, that's a tough one. GoPro cams don't like low light. I mean, you'll get decent results, but these cameras perform best with lots of light. In fact, none of my drumming videos have enough light to really showcase the quality of the cam. They appear a bit grainy and yellow. For the price though, I say go for it! -Danny

  • This is an awesome video. I love the fisheye effect and black and white looks good! Wish I knew how to play something....maybe I should watch your guitar series!!!

  • @JaneMichelleTv Thanks Jane... The angle of the camera lenses are very wide, so I added a vignette to exaggerate that without actually adding any angle effects. I was tired of the ugly yellow tint the fluorescent lights were giving me, so I just killed the color altogether and upped the whites, and downed the blacks a bit. Start with my basic chords lesson on sixstringsensei . com - You can be playing a song in a day!
