I did a video on air brake chambers that may have left people with questions about the rest of the braking system. Thus I did this little video to explain what wasn't covered in the Air Brake Chamber video.

  • Awesome! I took the air brakes CDL test at the DMV yesterday and only missed one question. Your videos put everything into perspective. I watched them multiple times and studied the CDL manual. Thank you and keep up the good work.

  • @foursimons2win You're very welcome, glad to hear my video helped you out! Stay save out there!

  • awesome vid! great detail

  • thats a really old assembly.spring returns on the slack adjusters. good video though.

  • @patriotsfz Yea, I'm glad we no longer rely on spring returns (for the most part).

  • Thanks so much for the videos on the air brakes! Books are just not the same thing as seeing one of these videos and the great narration. A very valuable learning tool.

  • Great presentation....very important stuff I now understand much better

  • great job on the explanation!

  • @gusmanual1 You are right 100 percent but I think he was just explaining why it is like that should one ever come accross it. Not yet though for me lol and been 4 years on the floor out in the field.

  • It has maxi pots yet it has a weird looking triangular looking axle, manual slacks and an outer return spring for service app. Odd ball or what lol.

  • Hey Viper, Nothing wrong with educating public but bad info not a good thing. Slack adjusters have 3 holes and both sides must be in the same hole. The slack adjusters and brake chambers must be the same by law. If you pin these as they are in the picture, it changes the AL factor or leverage factor and that is definitely not a good thing. Also, they do not have a helper spring. If that is needed, brake chamber needs replacement or there is mechanical problem with brakes. Otherwise, not bad.

  • Hi i feel a need to point something out here, Never ever should the clevis be in differernt holes, they should have matched braked pots so there is equal force. That is a good picture on how to not have them. Super dangerous...
