  • Small island no small island puerto rico can be independent and actually look after themselves. Think about it Dominican republic, bahamas, jamaica, and some virgin islands are independent and are doing very well for themselves as a independent nation. Yea their not the richest country in economics, but they still keeping their country together without the U.S, or former European imperialist nations. If the other carribean countrys can do it then so can puerto rico!

  • you preferred a independence for puerto rico are you drunk, go to puerto rico and live there, and quit the benefits to be a american citizens. The money buy everything

  • congress respect the decisions of PR? lol! don't make me laugh. congress and the majority of the people of the US don't give a crap about PR. they love PR as a colony b/c they get to exploit the people while investing as little as possible.

for that reason, PR will NEVER become a state (thank God). it will defeat the purpose of having PR as a colony. no more exploitation and the people of PR would actually have a voice. if anything, independence is the most likely scenario in the future.

  • Is about time a President in office visited the island...there are good things ahead for Puerto Rico!

  • He wants that the people of Puerto Rico become independence and lost our citizenship to become immigrants, in order that he would fight for our rights in his nation. See how he smile when says that "we (the Congress) have all the power".I feel sick only to see him.

  • We want Statehood for Puerto Rico NOW.
