It's because when screaming especially with his style of screaming, your voice wears out if you do it so frequently. You lose your voice after a while.

The double pedal that he uses in the first 2 albums wasn't the double pedal that you're imagining. It just added a little extra "oomf" to certain parts.

I love the fact that he refrains from using double kick. Just goes to show you that you don't need it to be heavy. I respect Aaron immensely for that.
