This video compares the sound of three keyboards: the Kinesis Advantage, Unicomp Customizer and Space Saver / IBM Model M, and Das Keyboard. They use, respectively, Cherry MX "Brown" keyswitches, buckling springs, and Cherry MX "Blue" keyswitches. See more at http://jseliger.com

  • Very interesting video. In your opinion which keyboard provides the best typing experience: the Unicomp or the Das Keyboard? Which of them is better built? Thank you!

  • Look at jseliger (DOT) com and search for "Unicomp" and "Das Keyboard." I'd post a URL directly, but YouTube forbids that.

  • I'm always baffled at how often Cherry MX Blue switches seem quieter in videos compared to their real sound level in real life. That said, Cherry MX Blue is my favourite switch. I wonder if I will ever get used to a Kinesis keyboard if I get one.

  • Patrick -- you'll probably get used to the Kinesis Advantage faster than you imagine if you actually get one. I wrote about my experience at my blog, The Story's Story, which I can't link to directly thanks to YouTube's commenting rules. Anyway, search for that string and you'll find it; search within the blog and you'll find the post.

  • I have the Kinesis Advantage and have been using Kinesis keyboards for about ten years... they are the best. I couldn't live without it.

  • Apart from the color, is there a difference between the Customizer 101 and 104?

  • I looks like it is in pain...

  • i love the sound of the das keyboard, i have the apple keyboard i don't think i will be able to have a clicky keyboard though because i'm so use to the chicklett style keyboard with my apple keyboard and they are pretty quiet they make no loud clicking at all

    1 - neither does '1s'.

2 - it wasn't that fast. It is pretty easy to type at an equal speed to that, if not faster. It doesn't even require that much experience.

3 - the video's intention was to provide a comparison between the sound that each keyboard makes when typing. To that end the video succeeded and certainly did not suck....

  • 1s - theree doesnt exist

2nd - dont pretend you can write that fast

    3rd - this video sucks...

  • 1s - theree doesnt exist...

2nd - Dont pretend you cant type that fast

I already got a Das. That was before the Rosewill was available I think. I am more than happy and therefore will not be buying the Rosewill. If I did not have the Das, I would have seriously considered the Rosewill though.
