A quick tour of Detroit proved quite shocking. Entire neighborhoods literally falling apart. The grand, majestic buildings from the golden age of Detroit empty and crumbling.

I'm from Detroit I live here Detroit is so far gone it wont come back for 50 or better years I been gave up and can't wait to leave

Why not start working to make it better? There's tons of new and interesting things going on in Dteroit. Just have to join in. You can change your situation right where you are. No matter where you go, there's good and bad.

i dont understand how you can default on a $5,000 morgage, the average home in detroit costs about $5,700 soo i just dont undetstand how you default on a morgage like that or even have a morgage, the house should be paid off, the down payment for a house in Los angeles costs more than a home in detroit

The Detroid-disaster could also be viewed as a symptom of the shortcomings of the dynamic of our civilization.

None of us would like to do without the safety-net of our social infrastructure or abstain from technical conveniences.

Neither mechanizing, socialism nor capitalism worked; yet everybody wants to keep the latter alive in the hope still to grab a piece of the cake.
