Peacocks actually don't do that just to attract females, as the keeper says near the end that he does it to everything that moves. Peacocks in the wild are actually monogamous but in captivity we breed them polygamous, so most people think they are polygamous in the wild too. Female peacocks aren't actually as attracted to the display as to the calls of the male.

The display is more of a threat posture to other animals.
