and i finally got to where i was planning to always and forever go
well for me i was set for canada where i would meet christie and her sweet family
and never realise for 2 or 3 years just what a great friend i had met
and on lonesome nights i still invision the love you could just get from listening
to a busker and his dog whinning for food
well it sounds rude ill tell you that, that i can be a piece of crap
for never giving you the time you deserved to talk it through
and some people say no thats absurd andrew you know the words
to explain just how im feeling when i am lost for words
but for me it doesnt come easy to, to explain myself to you
on how i am feeling or what the colour green reminds me of
but for the love that people express when they start kissing
and before you know it they're having sex in their kitchens
full of pots and pans and piss
well i cut my hair and backcombed it and some people said your hair looks shit
but for me it looked good and reminded me of childhood
well the rain is pouring door on me
and its soaked my glasses, i can barely see
all i can make out is a couple of kids playing in a puddle of piss
later on that day in a small pub talking to some friends over a few drinks
meanwhile quietly above people were on the move for bigger and better things
but me i enjoy it like this in a small pub where i can reminise
over good times, tradigies, vinyl records and b-movies
and thats my story of how i became what i became a storyteller in under a day
and my influences includes everyone you can imagine
and this story is spiked with a four chord only melody
that i play until there are broken strings only
and im a coward and a fuck up
and everybody knows that your father was penny less and your mum spent her life driving a bus
but none of that matters if you don't give a shit
so this song is now apocalypsed into a oblivion where nobody goes
unless you feel the need to live alone
and so alone you go, single handed was this the life you planned
it was sure as hell a mistake
