We speak with Norm Stamper, the police chief of Seattle during the 1999 WTO protests, when police responded to protests by firing teargas and rubber bullets into the mostly peaceful crowd. The protests resulted in 600 arrests and in the eventual failure of the WTO talks. Stamper resigned soon afterward. I made major mistakes, Stamper says of his handling of the situation. [

  • I think its part of human nature whenin an organization like the police or even hells angels to act and think in a gang mentality which in retrospect turns out to be wrong and excessive. got to give it to him telling us he made mistakes though thats brave. i just hope the met police at the G20 act in a thoughtful way now and not instantly make asumtions about people.

    I love Amy Goodman she looks even more attractive in that studio i wish she would come to Britain some day, ha ha ha
