I've just gotta say it, MANUAL on these cars makes ALL the difference having owned both the 4spd auto and the 5spd manual.

@hagenhammer True, volvo automatics have always been slow with comfort in mind, even in the so called sport mode which doesn't change much the characteristics of the gearbox. With manual you can shave even seconds of the 0-60 time compared to the slushbox, if you know what you're doing.

@bujashaka Manual is always faster in Volvo, even in the 2012 modells.

Nice i love these things. My dad has two of the first generation cars. My brother and i drive the 1999 Blue Coupe(he drives a 04 convertible). They are great cars.

@themanmaschine Autom. changes gears faster if it's designed to be sport. There are slower autom. gearsboxes as well. Nowadays it's like 0,01seconds or something. Manual never beats it.

my 98 c70 is pritty quick at over 100k....cant wait to get the ecu and exhaust...I do wish it was a manual, but from 98-00 there is less than 3000 c70s in the hard top...period....they all should have the t5 setup and premium stereo, but only some 250 have manual transmission...THis is of course in the US imported...I want a stick!!! just not as bad ass as it should be with the clutch! watch out its a what??? volvo biatch

Nice car, I really think about gettin a C70 T5 automatic (from 2001 for the 5 gear)!
What's your review with acceleration, kickdown etc ? And how much the car need on highway ?
Thanks ;)
Well, nice video. Was the transmission in economy mode? Or it's the model with 5-speed AT, which has only a winter mode button? For me it seems to shift early, compared to my '98 C70 Coupé T5 with 4 speed AT. I wish it was manual, but there was no coupé for sale with manual transmission and premium sound system in Saffron orange metallic.
In fact, apart from mine, there are two more C70s in my country in that colour I know of.

@AttilaSVK In Sport mode, I'm quite sure. It's the 4 speed AT.

Each to their own, but I think the manual car is better, overall

@themanmaschine Yeah well, this is my daily driver so I prefer AT for that.
