Santa Esmerelda in an example of the real disco artists, the ones who took ideas and genres of music and mixed and blended them and created new and innovative sounds. Yes, with that familiar backbeat, but then, that's what makes this disco. Their song "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" is a classic, filling the dance floor every time. The song takes rock and flamenco and put it to a disco beat and really gives us a great conglomeration of sound!
Enjoy two very rare Santa Esmeralda live performances in Chile on this DVD. First up is their 1979 appearence at the Viña Del Mar International Song Festival, the most important musical event in Latin America which has been held annually during February since 1960 in Viña Del Mar, Chile. Leroy Gomez only recorded the first album by Santa Esmeralda. The second singer and more disk recorded with the band is Jimmy Goings, who sings in this video, so this is the original that he acted for many country in the late 70's and early 80's. In Argentina had a huge success on television and performed with the group Tavares. Leroy Gomez was only one year at Santa Esmeralda.
