Italian-Americans are not Italians. We live in two different nations and even if the Italian Americans may keep some tradition and culture from the old country, they are US ctizens and not citizenz of the Repubblica italiana. I bet they are not interested nor affected by the old country situation. There is nothing wrong in this, simply Italy is not their country.
