El Cayuco fue una de las primeras interpretaciones de Santitos Colon con la orquesta de Puente.Aparece en el LP."Dance Mania" ,grabado en NYC en noviembre y diciembre de 1957 y salio al mercado en 1958.Es un clasico de la musica latina."Oye Como Va"fue grabado en 1960.Ambos temas son de Tito Puente.

@PalladiumMambonick ummm. just want to inform you that OYE COMO VA is a lot OLDER than what you think...you should be more careful about what you say about 2 very good "maestros" (Tito and Santana) I think you should do some more reasearch before you bad mouth Sanatana....Who did they(both) inherit the song from...hhhmmm give up??!!!

For anyone interested this song is called EL CAYUCO., Another great rendition of this song is the album TITO PUENTE LIVE AT BIRDLAND 1999. I am surprised that Santana didn't try ,to also steal this song from TITO like he did with OYE COMO VA. By the way OYE COMO VA is also on that album.

I also loved dancing at the palladium and had many memorable Wednesday night dance sessions at that great home of the mambo in the mid to late 50s. enjoy.
