@BrokenSolitary I don't know where you live, but I saw him in boston last spring and will see him again in Newburyport Mass the 17 of sept. Ya, he is great live. He had a woma violin player in Boston.

God, I love Bruce. I've seen him only once in concert, but as soon as humanly possible, I'm going again. That night pretty much cemented the unflappable notion that I physically NEED to be a professional musician in my soul. It was amazing. If you haven't seen him live yet...you really must. It's relatively life-changing!

Story behind the song? The version I heard is he was dining with a woman, possibly Aimee Mann and she asked what he had in his backpack, he said rope and other stuff for the end of the world. She laughed and said if it was the end of the world, she would only be drinking champagne with the one she loved.

He did this song on David Letterman, first time I ever heard it. Bought it the next day. I'd love to see that video someday. Beautiful song.
