Restored 1960 Philco Seventeener III TV showing a performance from the TV show Glenn Miller time. The picture on the TV gets a bit jittery after 20 minutes so I'll have to go back in and start testing the resistors, All paper and filter capacitors have been replaced. Tubes are all good.

  • I was hoping you would make a phone call while it was on.. Did I note the hint of a flat screen computer monitor on the left side of the video? Shame on you!! You need one of those early '90s IBM CRT computer monitors.

  • Ha! I actually had a 21" monitor from the 90's that weighed as much as a 1960's console TV! The new monitors aren't pretty but they're easier on the back!

  • The programming you showed was very much appropriate for the vintage of the television set. I will say that the quality of TV shows of that era were far superior to the (mostly) over-the-air garbage that passes as television programming today!!

  • good old classics. it's like Tolstoy with buttons.

  • I have this same exact set I fond it in an old tv store still brand new.and sold it for $50.00

  • AWESOME!

  • i remember growing up almost everyone had a set like this, either in their bedrooms

or the basement.wish i would have kept our red/white silvertone portable!

  • Like the old phone can you make a video on it? How old is it ? Gotta love those old tv's.

    Retro

  • I'm going to guess that the signal source is a VCR or DVD player with channel 4 output.

  • @jrcstudios Or an Apple I from 1976.

  • what a SWEEEET TV set....love the copper/bronze color scheme
