This video was uploaded on 8 Apr 2010 on Yahoo! South-East Asia's SingaporeScene. Host Ion Danker speaks to Adriana Roslan, a 30-year-old transgender Singaporean struggling to find acceptance here. His parents have accepted the fact that their son wants to become a woman after many years of denial. Just living a normal life is challenging. Job applications have been rejected and many have shunned him because of his decision. Yahoo! SEA asked, "What do you think? Are we a tolerant society?"

  • you hire ppl based on their education, credibility, qualifications and prob. whether u r willing to take the job w/ obstacles.

  • the people who rejected her job application are bias against her or most likely trans-gender themselves. I m not saying anything bAD, BUT COME ON! sure his/her family has accepted it. it may not be your everyday news, but if they cn accept it, so can the people who refuse to hire him/her.

  • come to think of it this is pathetic. So what if he wants to be a woman or whatever? he/she is still the same person. the people who rejected her job applications/dun wan to hire her are making a very big mistake.

  • I believe u r born as a muslim.. May god bless ur soul.... My prayers be with you...

  • I love u.. U have my support.. it is u strong girls who actually dare to do something that others dont dare.. so ask them to fuck off.. Strong Girl.. U rocks!

  • she's pretty :) so what if she's transgender what's wrong with it we should encourage them and not look down on them

  • if Society can not accept other people for what they are - those societies are not at the level to call them selves democratic. Democracy is a right to express yourself freely and the way you wish. Democracy recognizes your birth right to be the way you wish to express your self freely the way you wish. that simple.

  • If she is a transgender woman, then she is a woman. Please get your pronouns right.

  • THANK U BAREFOOTEDWANDERER.......

  • Goes to show how men make better women.
