Dien Bien Phu was a great victory for the Viet Minh. This is what happens when a highly motivated army is fighting for something in a just and righteous cause rather than just fighting against something to prevent changing the status quo, which is what the French were doing, and then the Americans and the South Vietnamese after them. The Viet Minh were rightly fighting to get their country back, as were the NLF and the North Vietnamese after them, and this they did.

and for those who wonder why Vietnam becoem a communist country, is because they have threaten the France that they will allied with the russian if the French comeback. SO if the U.S want revenge, go and invade the French

Vietnam never defeated US military. US congress pulled our troops out after North Vietnam signed a peace agreement with the US and South Vietnam, North Vietnamese leader won the Nobel peace prize for this so don't say they didn't sign it Jan 1973. US troops pulled out in 73, no US troops there when North broke peace agreement and conquered the South. Point is, leaving Vietnam to its own devices and misery was the best thing we did. Vietnam is still a nightmare, a living hell for the Vietnamese.
