@snickers763 stainless is mainly a high carbon steel alloy with a percentage of chromium in it to prevent corrosion. nickel and copper would be found in bronze, not stainless as they have very corrosive properties.
-
@tommybashop well stainless is good for decoration and some other tings but thats about it
-
@tommybashop stailess is very brittle i always hear people saying stainless is mild steel thats not heat treated stailess is an alloy of a little steel a little copper and mostly nickel plus most stainless steel swords have a rat tail tang

@snickers763 yeah, i looked into a few replicas and they just were not beefy enough so i made this. stainless is not a good metal for swords since it is brittle. it will usually break with a hard impact
-
@tommybashop yeah i like them to but all the replicas are stainless but if i were to make one it would be...smaller

@snickers763 i liked the way the braveheart sword looked so it it similar to it.

@Tomazimon They also have different qualities of steel at different places, i.e more rigid steel at the edges, softeri n the centre to allow bending
@tommybashop Very nice sword my friend although it seems to big unless it's just for hanging on a wall. I also have a very nice broadsword handmade by my friend. Only thing is I would love the short leather sheath how did you make it cheers.

@Itshardtochoosel it is very big but i dont have much trouble using it. i spent alot of time getting the balance right, which is why the counterweight on the end of the handle is so big. as for the sheath, its just 2 pieces of 1/8 inch thick leather rope stiched on the sides and slid on. to get it to stay on, i soaked it with water the used a heat gun to shrink it tight.
