well than i apoligiez for my previous unpolite phrases. (forgive my spelling i've only been in canada for 4 years) and I do believe you have said that you wanted your money back, my guess was you saw it in the theatre, but the piont still remains that just because it has more action of this CGI that everyone is talking about doesn't make it a bad movie that doesn't follow suit to the main series.
That's true and generally not a bad thing. But the difference is, that they still produce good Anime-Stories with increasing technical standards, where they stopped that on Trek somewhere into Voyager and concentrated on CGI than an enlightning story. Trek just has become very boring that way.
Who said, I would buy the movie? Who said, I didn't informed myself?
The criticism is, that I was mislead. The criticism is the indifference of the makers.
But the really interesting thing is, that, despite me being rather politely and eager to discuss, I gain unjustified thumb downs and one comment has lready been blended out.
I think this shows very clearly with which kind of characters the new Trek-Fans have been replaced.
apparently they actually think this is news - lawl
now if sony would only release that thing the Onion was talking about awhile back - "the Fu*king piece of sh*t that doesnt do what its supposed to" - i was really looking forward to getting one of those this christmas
I'm no Trekker (I'm a Star Wars person) and I loved the movie. I thought "Man, this is the Star Trek that even those who don't watch any of the old shows can enjoy. The real Trekkers are gonna be pissed!"
Everyone on this video is either pulling a spoof or is totally immersed in nerddom. This is a great film, and a fitting tribute to Gene Roddenberry's vision. Look people, you can't cover every aspect of every detail of Trek lore when you"re trying to jump-start a dead franchise. These people were not trekkies or even Star Trek fans when they made this wonderful film, and I for one think they did an outstanding job. Just pray they get together again and make more.
I love this video to death. It totally has the right idea. I'm a Trek fan too, but I seem to be in the minority that isn't stuck in the past, and can recognize the problems that had been stacking up.
There's a difference between "smart" and "dull." Recent Star Trek had long dove deep into the latter. This movie NEEDED to be exciting to shake off that "boring crap" stigma and plant itself as something worth watching again.
