What gauge is that on the right? Was it not hooked up yet (light is on inside it), or was the engine cold? If the engine was that cold, you probably should have let it heat up a bit first. There's lots of power in this one, probably a blast to drive. Do you have to feather it (from dead stop) to keep the wheel spin to a minimum or is it okay in that department?

If the engine was cold the Vtec would not engage and the car would not pull that hard.
