  • Great Tune By The Videls Keep Rocking Then Great Tunes

  • Actually this is the Mystics! I can't change it because 99% of the doowop world believes it's the Videls because of a recording & print mistake. Read down a bit & read all the messages posted.

  • You know, I think I'll change the header around a little. Thanks 4 bringing it to my attention!

  • Honestly, I think U are correct! It does sound much more like the Mystics than the Videls. I love both groups, it does have a Mystic's sound. I have been in contact with some big doowop collectors up in the N.E. who also thought it is/was the videls. The problem is, it was never released on a 45, the LP is causing the problem. I will repost this as the Mystics. Now, the Mystics had many different leads, who sang lead on this? Only because many collectors will argue with me about Videls/Mystics.

  • My information is from George Galfo original member of The Mystics...

    YES THE MYSTICS DID RECORD

    "SAVE A DREAM"

WHICH WAS WRITTEN BY PETE AND VINNY(OR BOTH) OF THE VIDELS.

    ALL OUR BEST

    GEORGE GALFO

    (ORIGINAL MYSTIC MEMBER)

  • Besides, this is not Crystal Ball, it's Magic Carpet. As for now, I'll leave the header alone & will continue to research it. You could be correct, you could be wrong. As for now, I'll go by what the LP says.

  • I read where you copied & pasted ( Mystics recorded in 1965 "In My Faithful Heart" and "Save A Dream") In the same HISTORY OF THE MYSTICS by Bob Ferrante. Which stated (The Tradewinds vocal group would soon change their name to The Videls.) which is a mega mistake. In turn they loose credibility with me. At this point in time I really don't care, let Poncia, Ferrante and Crystal Ball fix the confusion. I am not about to argue with everyone that has this LP or the CD, I can use my time 4 posting.

  • The Mystics recorded in 1965 "In My Faithful Heart" and "Save A Dream" (this last written by Pete Andreoli and Vinny Poncia of The Videls)two unreleased songs for many years but in 1980 Crystal Ball Records released a Videls albun that mistakenly incluided "Save A Dream".I repeat this song is by The Mystics Not The Videls.

  • Sorry guy! This is the Videls, I've owned this LP for 35 years! It's the 8th song on the A-Side. I'll send you a picture of the label & LP cover. It's not the Mystics.

  • Save A Dream is by The Mystics not the Videls.
