Please excuse the microphone, sadly the M11 is closer than I'd like!

UPDATES: Since making this video I have be asked to ride at a Charity Gala Dressage evening hosted by Daniel Sherriff in August, which I am so looking forward to.
At Pony Club Area dressage our team won overall and Smartie and I won both of the individual classes. This means that we are off to the Pony Club Championships in August.
I have also had confirmation that I am in the Eastern Region's BYRDS team for the Sheepgate U'25's Championships.

"Hello, I am Eleanor Hall and this is Smartie. We are both 17 years old. I've been riding him since last December but I have known him for around 6 years, from when he would only go in straight lines!

At our last outings at novice we have scored 75.4 and 80% and I plan to move up to elementary this year. I am representing Essex Hunt North Pony Club at Area Dressage in July and, fingers crossed, I am joining the BYRDS squad at the Home International or Sheepgate U25's Championships, which I am very excited about.

As I only joined the pony club last year, I am doing my C test this summer and my B test next year however I am ultimately aiming to do my A test.

Smartie is a very special pony as he also does RDA at Chigwell Riding Trust and is on the Para Foundation Squad with a rider with muscular dystrophy. I travel with Smartie to the Para competitions to work him in before the tests.

With the bursary I would be able to use the feeding advice and money saved to improve my training, and therefore results. I also hope to do some low-level eventing with my other ride - Charlie.

Smartie and I would be thrilled to be involved in any promotional activities and it would be a dream come true to appear in Horse and Hound.
I would also like to thank you for this opportunity."

  • congratulations to you and smartie and good luck for this future. i also ride an rda pony and i think this is great to show everyone that rda ponies are not old plods as so often people presume this! i wish i could do this with my rda pony, but it has inspired me to keep on trying :) xxx

  • @Lyn53yM Thank you very much :) I agree - a lot of RDA horses are capable of far more than people give them credit for. I wish you the best of luck with your pony. Is she the piebald from your videos? If so she looks lovely :) Plus you have years ahead of you. Charlie - the other pony I mentioned is 21 going on 8! Best wishes and thanks for a lovely comment!
