@19Ron66 Keep believing that and we will never be rid of wars. It was to show the Russians what they weaponry had. People are still dying from the radiation, but keep believing your patriotic life saving bullshit. It's shite like this that people lap up and support invasions of random nations. The world is fucked because you lot are flexing your egos.

@RyanBrooksby Im not even from japan.

The USSR threatened to invade Japan.
Estimated casualties: 5 million
REAL casualties: 166,000.
I think the Nukes were used to stop WORLD WAR THREE. USSR Invading Europe. Without Nukes, Europe = Defenceless.
Fuck Japan, you're not the only nation out there.

Read my comment again, dickhead. I am not disagreeing with you.
The two atom bombs saved many American lives. A land invasion without the two bombs would have cost many more Japanese lives too.
-
@19Ron66 it saved the life of american soldiers, who otherwise would have fallen conquering the mainland of japan. of course on the expense of japanese civil lifes. dont try to justify your countries bullshit

A true classic!!! Love this movie.
@adErsante The US used the atom bomb to end the war. Japan was already effectively defeated, but didn't know when to stop fighting. They had lost virtually all their outstanding islands and a mainland invasion was inevitable. The atom bomb was used to avoid even greater casualties during a mainland invasion - the majority of which would have been civilians. Believe it or not, the two atom bombs used actually SAVED many more Japanese lives than they killed !

I love all WW2 warbirds, but I'd to say after watching a P-51D flying over my house in Philadelphia as a kid was one of the most awe inspiring events in my life. Such a beautiful aircraft, and the sound its engine makes gives me goose bumps. Still does 30 years later.
