Birmingham city centre, riots aftermath, August 2011. Had to go into Birmingham city centre on Friday morning, so I took some pictures of the damage in the aftermath of the riots from Monday. The scum that took part in this madness have brought great shame on my city and the others towns across England, personally I'd hang the bastards, forget all this human rights bollocks, if that's how you want to behave you don't deserve to be part of civilised society, and don't forget that this wasn't a political protest, it was just out and out thuggery, SCUM ! I still love Birmingham though :)
the city center its too small, but gangs every where, shame

The situation was a true shame. U.S. "flash mobs" occur on a much smaller scale.

I totally agree with your comments mate. What goes around comes around. Bring back National Service for the little scumbags I reckon. It might teach them to at least be a decent f*cking citizen.

I agree with you bro, the cops let people get out of control to give the opposition a really bad name, they stoked the flame until it was an inferno, then they snap pictures of the unrest and all you see are animals, they did the same thing here in Toronto last summer, tho it wasn't as bad as England. Need to show more discipline.

The police were taunted and attempts were made to draw them into further conflict.
The looting stopped when people took to the streets in large numbers and record sales of baseball bats and crowbars were reported.
If this unrest was used to excuse greater spending on police and the bestowing of extra 'powers' it would lead to far greater problems for all of us (except the bankers who want us to kill each other while they run of with the loot).
Forming local protection squads is the answer.
