  • Oh she's a diabetic? how old was she when it was diagnosed? i am a diabetic since i was 2 years old and i have a insulin punp for about 6 years now.

hope you're doing well, Julia! :)

  • She has a pump now too (as of Last September)! She's doing great, and loving her Omnipod!

  • This is probably a stupid question, but how do you handle things like swimming, where the pump might get wet, or soccer, where it might get knocked out of place? Also, can Julia still wear her favourite princess dresses with her pump?

  • her pump is water tight and adheres to her skin - I have to do an omnipod video soon so everyone can see. If it gets knocked off we just put a new one on - but that doesn't happen very frequently... check out "myomnipod dot com" to see what I mean.

  • any where there is fatty tissue according to my doctors...

  • Oh my goodness!!! shut up!!! how old is she?? She's so brave!!! oh my gosh... when i was little, i would cry even before i see the shot. wow!!! she's so brave!!! oh my word!!! i just can't believe it... i still flinch when i get shots too, and my eyes would water.. lol...

  • She's so brave! I am almost 23 and it can take me half an hour to press the little button to prick my finger, and I can sit with my pen for ages before I dare to put the needle in and take my insulin :O I'm such a chicken :P

I hope everything is going well for Julia and the rest of your family :)

  • How can you do the shot that quickly? I keep mine in for a few seconds before taking it out and sometimes it comes back out anyway.

  • You're daughter is cute.. and very brave.. My daughter is also type 1 diabetic, she's now 7.. The one thing that caught my attention is when you said she gets six shots a day, and you said no 'only if your naughty and eat something you shouldn't do you get 6 shots a day..' I'm really surprised by that comment.. do you restrict food? or is she not carb counting and not having the freedom to eat as she wishes?

  • My daughter is 4 as well and has type 1. She is able to do her own glucose. Has she ever given her own shot?

  • great video!:) she is very good with doing shots and she is brave and cute!!!:) best of luck with diabetes!!!:)
