@Srd1126 Depressing isn't it

@maddywoo13 we gave up on teaching civics long ago. I had a girl sat next to me could not answer the question, "What branch of government does the Speaker of the House preside over." Since 1913 we have lost what government is supposed to mean in the USA.

@Srd1126 Now that I DO strongly disagree with (welfare issue) but that's a poor government and education problem, and those two have a very long history. It's not supposed to be so easy to apply for welfare and its only fair to the people that they know how that system works early on. Governmental assistance has been around for a LONG time. If there were more limits and if kids are taught deeper about how the government works in High School, not only std. testing, then it wouldn't be so bad.

@maddywoo13 We would be far better if it was still a soicial stigma. What we have today is the girl saying, "I choose to keep my baby. But I want someone else to pay for it." (eg: welfare, section 8 housing, food stamps, WIC, head-start, on and on.)
The destruction of the nuclear family of the 1950s is the root of so many of our problems today.

@Srd1126 In those time getting pregnant young was a social stigma. Yeah dad might go after the guy that did it, but the girl suffered, too. Forcing to give the child up w/o her say, being sent away so no one would know, desperate and dangerous measures of abortion, & lets not forget being disowned. Way too much pressure. Real feminism isn't about busting guy's balls, about giving the woman the right to CHOOSE. If she want to stay at home, then she chooses to, it shouldn't be her ONLY choice.

@maddywoo13 The later is worse. I have worked with many women who said out loud they would prefer to be able to stay home with the kids and keep the house. And too many ,men are afraid to lead and act like men. John Wayne got replaced by Alan Alda. In 1952 a girl got knocked up her dad and brothers hunted down the guy who did it. Today she has the kids and they end up pregnant young if a girl or in juvenile hall if a boy. I'll take 1952.

@Srd1126 But what would YOU say is worse? The idea that women were to be solely baby makers and household machines or the idea that all men are lying, cheating scumbags, risen from common personal experience (btw, I do not agree with this idea, I'm just pointing out) It's a catch-22. Both eras have their own unique fucked up-ness, but if I wasn't as culture fascinated as I am, as a black woman myself, I wouldn't want to live '52. I guess it all depends on who you are to make this judgement.
"...and not faggot ass cornholing cocksuckers like married my cousin..he should fucking die!
Awesome quote haha

@Srd1126 You're right. Phil was clearly disgusted by his time in prison and carried around a huge load of resentment as a result. Watching/listening to other prisoners engaging in homosexual sex, which Phil considers deplorable, would definitely strengthen any built-in hostility concerning that lifestyle.
