I've never liked this song (it's boring as hell) but I've always loved Gareth Gates and his voice. So I like this "version" of this song, but I still think the song is not that great.
Absolutely amazing ending though. He grows into it, while too many other singers don't put good dynamics into it.

I have heard this song performed many times before by many different artists and performers. None of them have been able to capture the same level of intensity as gareth has, and none of them have been able to perform this song as good as gareth.

I love Gareth's voice, but I don't like how he approached this. He dodged a few key highs, and contrary to every one else's opinion here, I think he's lacking in the intensity that this song was written for.
