In this video I try to show how realtime chord playback could work in Sibelius (demo version). Currently you need to use the "Realize Chord Symbols" plugin, which can be really slow and creates an extra staff. In this video I use "Focus on Staves" to hide the extra staff and pretend it's not there. :)

The plugin is RealGuitar from MusicLab.com.

  • If I recall correctly, I used an application called iShowU HD for this one. It's for Mac. You may have to use a "software audio cable" i.e. virtual inter-application sound i/o thing like Cycling 74's Soundflower. In this video, I didn't properly adjust for audio latency, so the audio and video are slightly out of sync. If you're on Windows, there's a free screen recording program called CamStudio, which may or may not work for you.

  • How did you record the video and the sound? I want to upload a vid of my compositions but I can only get the video. The audio never records. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • This is great! I can't wait to do some real guitar work in Sibelius.

  • Very nice, this sounds good. How long have you had sibelius 6 and how did you get a hold of that plugin?
