Two factors of Dr. Inadomis fascinating study appear critical. First, prevention of cancer is the ultimate goal. Second, what are the long term outcomes with current ablative therapies and those to be developed? Do these results mean that the threshold for approval of ablative therapies should be efficacy for prevention of cancer rather than just ablation of Barretts metaplasia or dysplasia? This would set a very high bar.
