For over 6 hours on Saturday, Nov 13, 2010, the Interact Club and Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club's Interact Chair, John Coffman, handed out shopping lists to the shoppers of a local Wal-Mart in Laguna Niguel, CA for items to be shipped to the 5th Marines in Afghanistan this Christmas.
This video was shot and produced by John Coffman to help tell the world what these wonderful Dana Hills High School teenagers are doing for our fightin' 5th Marines.
These civic minded students are the early supporters of the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group's 2010 Holiday Goody Box drive. The Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group will be collecting Holiday Goodies until Wednesday, Dec 15, 2010 for our troops in Afghanistan. The boxes will arrive "In-Country" in time for Christmas to bring a little bit of home to our brave warriors fighting for our great country.
The Interact students from Dana Hills High School did such an outstanding job and the shoppers they handed the shopping lists to were very generous, donating well over $1,000.00 in "Goody Box" items. It took 2 large vehicles to get these items to temporary storage!
In early December, the Interact students from Dana Hills High School will join the members of the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club and The Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group for a packing party to box these and other items that are being collected, so these can be shipped to the 5th Marines serving in Afghanistan.
