  • On the sl mk2 i would like to use the drum pads to stop individual columns of clips (without playing notes), but they are assigned to play a note. How do I permanently change this?

  • @SergeantHi5 The note messages are sent through the 'track' port into Live. If you ensure that no instruments are receiving MIDI from all devices, or from the SL Mk II (port 1) then then notes will not play an instrument. You can then use the drum pads for stopping the columns of clips.

  • for some reason, whene i press the "play scene" button, it indeed plays the scene i selected, but at the same time switches the selection to one scene further down.

why does this happen and how could i fix it? it isnt normal i suppose...

  • @rubyruby777 In the 'Record, Warp, Launch' page of the Live preferences there is an option to 'Select next scene on Launch'. If you do not want this to happen, set this to 'off'.

  • Is there a way ( on the SL MK2 ) to switch between effects in a device or do I have to manually click them in Live?

  • @themazeltov There aren't any buttons preconfigured to switch between devices and since this is a command thats not MIDI assignable in Live, you would need to click on them.

If there were particular parameters that you needed to access, outside the device that is in focus, you could MIDI assign them by using the unassigned drumpads, button row or pot row.

  • is there a way to scroll thru audio and put in warp markers using the knobs and buttons on the mk 2 if so can somebody please demo straight this!!??

  • Do you find it limiting just having 1 row of pads to launch clips? I need a controller for ableton but Toying with what to get. I like the idea of the novation launch pad, but it does not have a crossfader, but if I go for the sl mk2, you only get 1 row of pads.... :(

  • @kozihoppy no, still not

  • @dangelfrance It's the same question i've been making with no convincing answer... have you figured it out yet?

  • How the hell do you use automap with ableton I've been scouring the web for two days now trying to figure out how to set my Mk2 with ableton and have gotten no where if anyone has any help or a customer support number please send me it

  • You can either choose to have Pot Pickup mode on or off in Automap. This is the same in Ableton (Takeover Mode) which can be set on or off.

  • haha ahah really good, drum pad for global control. get yourself another controller mate. why do u think its called DRUM pads? to play durm i suppose

  • My apologies in advance if this has been already answered, but i have a little issue. And is just that when i switch pages in the mixer to control from chan. 9 and on, when i try to launch, so to speak, a clip from chan. 9, i keep launching a clip from chan 1, i mean, the page switch works with channel vol. and mute, etc but not with clip launching. Do i need to configure anything more? Thanks.

  • great vid! i have question about the endless encoders, if u set the takeover mode in ableton to none, do they act and work seamlessly (relative) when u switch between plugins in automap or change pages in automap midi mode, or are they like the encoders on AKAI MPC's that need a software value scaling or pickup takeover mode?

    thx
